The AGM took place on June 30th. The presentations made by the main summer project actors were well received, as was the positive financial summary for the past year. Three new administrators, Paule Obermeir from North Hatley, Johanne Brouillet from Ayer`s Cliff and Jean-Marie Lefebvre from Stanstead East fill out the 11 person board of directors. The board is now made up of at least one person per municipality as well as a citizen from the larger watershed, one of the objectives of the 2012 strategic plan.
Swept in on the dynamic wind already blowing within the Association this spring, the Annual General Meeting of June 17 brought even more vigor to the Council. No fewer than seven new administrators joined the Board. The first meeting took place on July 5th in an atmosphere full of the vitality and energy that is inevitably brought about by a change of this magnitude. The Ayer’s Cliff Municipality was awarded with the MRC championship nomination having reached a 65% conformance rate with regards to waste management. The Municipality can be proud of its citizens’ environmental practices and of the work accomplished by the committee in charge. Four residents on the Chemin Ayer’s Cliff between Route 141 and the boat launch have modified their shoreline and now meet regulation requirements. This brings the area conformity rate to an 87% level. Three properties remain as partially conforming and one only as totally non-conforming.
